Welcome to Panama City Spearfishing Charters. We take experienced scuba
divers on custom trips to find dinner and alittle offshore adventure.
While we are avid diver's ourselves, after a time blowing bubbles on the
same old public reefs began to lack the sense of adventure it once
held. Then we discovered spearfishing! If you are like us please gives
us a call and lets setup a trip.
Spearfishing is the most ethical form of meat gathering there is. Unlike hook and line fishing, an experienced spearo has zero by-catch. By-catch is the fish you catch that are not desired in pursuit of your target fish. Fish that are too small or the wrong species are obviously released but rarely survive commercial gear types and techniques. This is not catch and release trout fishing from a shallow stream that we are talking about but trawling and longlining fish off the bottom in 120' and greater depths! Commercially caught fish, unless it was speared, typically has a very high rate of by-catch. Thats why they call it fishing, not "catching."
Both of our boats have the legally required Federal Reef Fish Permits to go offshore where the good stuff is.This means that we will be able to target the chicken coops, reef-maker pryamids and shipwrecks that hold good Amberjack, grouper and snapper in addition to the normal retinue of hardbottom reefs that is so good at producing red grouper and shovelnose lobster for our divers and spearfishers.

Our Charters cost $120 for each additional diver, with a minimum of 5 passengers ($600) on the 36' Steel Slinger and 3.5 ($420) on the 25' Parker. Please book your spearfishing charter well in advance as we get very busy during the season, especially with the shorter and shorter Red Snapper seasons of recent years!

We have gotten alot of feedback from the spearing community asking for a beginner class to help shorten the learning curve on fish ID, gear selection (esp about guns), laws and ethics, and of course technique and where to go spearing.
We listened!
We now offer monthly "Intro to Spearing Classes" over two days. 1 day of classroom and 1 day of spearing on the boat.
Its $250 and can be booked by calling the shop at anytime. 850-588-8077
